“I would like to see someone tell Jennifer Lopez to sit down eight hours a day seven days a week… No car […] no door for privacy,” she wrote on her Instagram account, before deleting the post on Monday.

“After 14 years of being told ‘no’ to what I wanted…it’s ruined for me…but that wasn’t the worst part…the worst thing is that my family locked me in this place for four months,” she added, alluding to her confinement in a mental institution.

The singer continued her charge by writing that at one point, her medication was “suddenly” changed to “drugged” with lithium. She also spoke in another post about her struggles to get her greatest hits remixed and her animosity towards the music industry, adding that she was humiliated and made to feel worthless.

From 2008 to 2021, all of the now 40-year-old star’s personal and financial affairs were under the guardianship primarily of her father, Jamie Spears.
