(Vancouver) Lululemon has announced that it is suspending sales of one of its new product lines that has sparked customer complaints.
The Vancouver-based clothing company’s line of tights and other activewear is called Breezethrough.
Many pieces in the line featured a long V-shaped waistband at the front and a Y-shaped seam at the back that many customers found unattractive and produced a “whale tail” look.
Lululemon says it takes customer feedback seriously and sees an opportunity to incorporate its recent learnings into future designs.
The company adds that the pause will give it time to make necessary changes to deliver the best possible product experience.
Analysts at William Blair say Breezethrough debuted earlier this month, but quickly became known for its “unflattering cuts.”
While analysts expect the line to eventually return, they said in a note to investors that the suspension will likely raise questions about Lululemon’s approach to business.
