Promoter Yvon Michel made the announcement in a post on his Twitter account on Monday morning.

Clavel was scheduled to face Mexican Yesenia Gómez (19-5-3, 6 KOs) for the title of World Boxing Council (WBC) light flyweight champion at the Casino de Montreal. The gala will ultimately not take place.

“Kim Clavel’s symptoms are quite virulent,” he said. We stay in contact with her and send her all the positive vibes we have so that she recovers quickly. »

Stéphan Larouche, one of the boxer’s trainers, then revealed in a tweet that Clavel had “begged” his team not to say anything.

“She wanted to box despite her positive test,” he wrote. A real warrior. With the sleepless night she just had, [la] fever, [les] terrible sore throat, [les] recurring headaches, it was out of the question to let her box in this physical state. »

All the fights that were scheduled for that day are postponed either to May 5 or to another date, Yvon Michel said, indicating that he would provide more details in the coming hours.

This is the third time Clavel has been forced to postpone this fight. In November, the 31-year-old boxer was injured in training. In January, his opponent said he needed more time to prepare.
