Little known, Boris Nadejdine is the only potential anti-war candidate facing Vladimir Putin during the Russian presidential election in March 2024. He notably appeared with the wives of soldiers mobilized on the Ukrainian front.

Day and night, in all weathers, they waited to provide their signature of support for the candidacy of Boris Nadejdine, the only potential anti-war candidate facing Vladimir Putin in the Russian presidential election of March 2024. Old hand politics, but little known, Boris Nadejdine appeared with the wives of soldiers mobilized on the Ukrainian front, in a country where criticism of the war can lead to prison.

Vladimir Putin leads the polls

According to his party, more than 200,000 people agreed to give their name and signature in support. In theory, the candidate has enough support, but each signature must now be validated by the administration. “The mobilization from which Boris Nadezhdine benefited is notable, but it should not make us forget that according to the latest polls, 80% of Russians trust Vladimir Putin”explains journalist Anne Ponsinet, in Moscow (Russia).
