Body found in Hemmingford | A man accused of insulting dignity

(Salaberry-de-Valleyfield) A man has been accused of violating the dignity of a body in connection with the case of the disappearance of a woman in Hemmingford, in Montérégie.


Nicholas Gravel, 31, was charged Friday, a day after the 29-year-old’s body was found near her home in Hemmingford, a village of about 1,000 near the state line. -United.

The woman, whose name is protected by a publication ban, was reported missing on September 21.

The accusation against Nicholas Gravel indicates that he violated the dignity of a body between September 15 and 21.

The woman’s body was discovered on Thursday, after an extensive search involving police and community members.

Nicholas Gravel was arrested hours later and will remain in custody until he returns to court on October 2 for a bail hearing.
