The award-winning comedy-drama Black sequencecreated by Jean-François Rivard and François Létourneau, will have its adaptation in Spanish.
The French production company Gaumont has acquired the rights to use it in the language of Cervantes. His Latin American team in Los Angeles will oversee the project. Amuz Distribution, formerly ComediHa! Distribution, has concluded the agreement with the French cinema giant.
The distribution company, based in Quebec, thus concludes its first agreement since its rebranding in May. For the Quebec soap opera, winner of 11 Gémeaux awards, it is also the first international sale in a decade.
“We can’t wait to see the Spanish version of Black sequencea cult series from home, and we are convinced that it will appeal to this new audience”, expressed in a press release the vice-president of international distribution for Amuz Distribution, Alexandre Avon.
Broadcast on Radio-Canada between 2014 and 2016, Black sequence tells the story of two screenwriters, Denis and Patrick, ready to do anything to repair their reputation as authors, after the resounding failure of their series The law of justice. Forced to write the sequel, they must radically change their method of writing to ensure the likelihood of their work.
