Friday, July 26, the day of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, has been classified as a black day in Île-de-France by Bison Futé, reports France Bleu Paris. Travelers are advised to postpone their trips.
Due to the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, Bison Futé warns that “traffic will be extremely difficult in Île-de-France on Friday July 26, forecast revised from red to black” for both departures and returns. It is advisable to avoid “to travel in Île-de-France on Friday after 10 a.m.”The Ministry of Transport is therefore counting on traffic “extremely difficult.”
On its X account, Bison Futé even recommends postponing journeys to the Sunday following the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Saturday will also be classified as black throughout France for departures and returns to the Paris region. These disruptions on the road will be added to those already announced in public transport, again due to the opening ceremony of Paris 2024.
Metro line 6 will be closed for several hours on the day of the Olympic opening ceremony. Next Friday, 320,000 spectators will flock to the banks of the Seine from 1 p.m. to attend the ceremony, the Paris police prefecture recalled in a press release. The red perimeter will then be extended and strictly closed to car traffic, except for accredited vehicles.
