Between shotguns and weapons of war

Is it any wonder that our legislators, no strangers to bones of contention, struggle so much to differentiate between bananas and oranges, suggesting a lasting harmful influence from manufacturing lobbies? The war industry is probably one of the most lucrative in the world. […] Crossbow hunting derives great pride and satisfaction from a single arrow, not the emptying of a magazine of 15-30 bullets. On the other hand, war as an art of death shows less compassion towards men than they towards animals. As for their weapons, the armed forces of the world, and NATO, define the standards very well. If we are talking about hunting and not about war, would it be easier and more logical to have an acceptable description of a hunting rifle for the purposes of the law? Instead of going through a labeling and sorting of weapons that fall outside sport hunting, which can only wave a red flag in the face of lobbies and shooting clubs.
