The weather was fine almost all over France on Thursday April 14. Tourist destinations are full for the Easter weekend. The 20 Hours of France 2 offers an escapade on the Sainte-Croix lake, in the heart of the Verdon natural park.

In the heart of the Verdon natural park, the Sainte-Croix lake is regaining its colors and its visitors, after two springs ruined by the Covid. Installed in a cottage, a family enjoys the panorama and the calm for four days of vacation. She arrives from the Var, 1h30 drive for a green setting. Arrivals are linked in guest rooms. In the southern region, for the past two weeks, 60% of tourist accommodation has been occupied.

It’s still not quite the level of three years ago, before the health crisis, but it’s encouraging. At Lac de Sainte-Croix, it is the sun that first attracts tourists. In a municipal campsite a stone’s throw from the beach, 30% of the pitches are already occupied, which is extremely rare for early spring. According to a study by the Regional Tourism Committee, 70% of French people intend to leave, on vacation or for the weekend, by the end of spring.
