Best Performance by a Classical Orchestra | Yannick Nézet-Séguin wins a Grammy

(Toronto) Montreal conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin won a Grammy for best performance by a classical orchestra on Sunday.

Nézet-Séguin conducted the Philadelphia Orchestra during the recording of the First and Third Symphonies by composer Florence Prince, an album released by Deutsche Grammophon.

The Montrealer is also nominated in two other categories at the gala presented on YouTube.

The main ceremony will be broadcast on American television in the evening.

Other Canadians also distinguished themselves: Joni Mitchell, winner in the category of best historical album for Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1967)and Alex Cuba, winner in the category of the best Latin pop album for Mendo.
