Two months later, Julian Alaphilippe is back. Affected by a hemopneumothorax, a fractured scapula and two broken ribs during the Belgian race Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the native of Saint-Amand-Montrond (Cher) will again put on a competition bib this weekend.

The Frenchman, just 30 years old, will take part in the French Road Championships on Sunday June 26 in Cholet. His Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl team officially announced it on Tuesday. Two other riders from the Belgian team will also participate, including outgoing champion Rémi Cavagna, and Florian Sénéchal.
At the end of May, Julian Alaphilippe told the newspaper l’Equipe that he hoped to participate in the Tour de France. The Grande Boucle starts very soon, on July 1st.
