Benoît Paire plans to end his season, after his defeat in the first round of the US Open tennis

Benoît Paire definitely can’t do it anymore. The Avignon tennis player was once again eliminated from entry this Tuesday evening at the US Open, very harshly beaten by Briton Cameron Norrie: 6-0, 7-6 (7/1), 6-0. He only existed in the second set, when he broke his opponent to lead 5-3. But he immediately lost this advantage by giving up his serve, after being two points from equalizing. In the decisive game, his three double faults were crippling. Then he then completely died out, as in the first set, letting the games take place without a fight.

“I did what I could. I could have taken the second set, it would have been good in my head, but my demons came back again”explained Benoît Paire, now 173rd player in the worldwho will now take a week off. “I’m letting myself go, we’ll see what happens. I’m not sure if I’ll continue the season. Maybe I’ll stop there and see if I start again next year. For now, I need a little rest”he explained.
