Convinced he was being spied on, a resident of Robion, in Vaucluse, shot down an Enedis drone on Wednesday, August 14 with his hunting rifle, France Bleu Vaucluse reported on Thursday, August 15. The electricity network manager filed a complaint. The man was in his garden when he saw a drone flying over his house on Wednesday morning. He then thought that someone was spying on him in his swimming pool and went to get his hunting rifle before shooting down the drone.

The device, which was completely destroyed, belonged to Enedis and was not intended for spying. The electricity network manager used it to secure its high-voltage lines and check tree pruning. The hunter was questioned by the police. He risks having his hunting license revoked and his weapon confiscated.

Please note that the police are asking residents to call them if they have any doubts, as they have access to drone flight permits and can therefore arrest a pilot if they are not in compliance.
