Beijing 2022: plenty of medals thanks to Quebec

We suspected that they would not equal the historic mark of 29 medals won by Canada at the Winter Games, achieved four years ago in Pyeongchang. But the country’s athletes will not have gone that far.

Last night, a few hours before the curtain fell on Beijing, they had collected 26, thanks in particular to the crew of Justin Kripps, in the 4-man bobsleigh, who finished third.

Quebec athletes leave China with 21 medals in their pocket. Of the lot, three have been on the podium more than once: speed skater Steven Dubois as well as snowboarders Maxence Parrot and Éliot Grondin. Quebecers will have contributed to 13 of the podiums obtained by Canada at these Games.
