before the European elections, the support deemed undesirable by the former president for Raphaël Glucksmann

A bright sun on the countryside, a dynamic unexpected for the socialists in the polls… And now the sky is clouding over for the leadership of the PS with the – unwanted – support of François Hollande. Nine days before the European elections, the former President of the Republic continues interviews in favor of Raphaël Glucksmann, whose team would do well without. Better: François Hollande is even organizing a meeting in support of the head of the PS Place Publique list on June 6, next Thursday, in Limoges, three days before the election.

An agitation which annoys the leadership of the Socialist Party, as Olivier Faure clearly said, Friday May 31, on franceinfo: “We have the will to ensure that we are never assimilated” has “anyone who today would like to take advantage of the European election to return to the political game“, warned the first secretary of the Socialist Party, deputy for Seine-et-Marne. The support of the former head of state for the list of the Socialist Party-Public Square seems to embarrass the first secretary of the Socialist Party: “Anyone who would like to support our list this weekend or next week is welcome. This will not change the line of Raphaël’s campaign“, replied Olivier Faure.

Raphaël Glucksmann appeared with former Prime Minister Lionel Jospin during a leaflet distribution and will be meeting in Lille with the mayor of Lille, Martine Aubry. According to Olivier Faure, “it’s up to (François Hollande) to say“his real intentions,”but for the moment, it has always been sufficiently vague on the question for doubt to exist“, he emphasizes. And to clarify that he does not intend to “put your foot back in anyone’s stirrup, this campaign is that of Raphaël Glucksmann“.

Behind the scenes, the PS executives are letting loose: François Hollande, “it’s the troll“, “that guy who crashes parties, but no one wants to see, we don’t want to play nightclub bouncers“. Even a former PS member concedes it: Hollande, “it’s still radioactive“Among left-wing voters, his five-year term remains.”a betrayal“, according to him. LFI also uses the initiatives of the former president to attack Raphael Glucksmann. Finally, as if to mark the break, a deputy tackles: “He did well to choose June 6, the day commemorating the landing, for his meeting, since the news will be for veterans“.

Raphaël Glucksmann, 44, is credited with 14 to 15% in the voting intentions at the head of a PS/Place publique list before the June 9 election. The good score expected from the list should thus redistribute the cards to the left for the presidential election of 2027.
