Beetlejuice 2 completes filming

On Instagram, director Tim Burton announced Thursday that the filming of Beetlejuice2 – the sequel to the cult 1988 film – is now complete, just under a year before the film’s scheduled release in September 2024.

Before the Hollywood strike broke out this summer, there were only two days of filming left, Tim Burton told The Independent, in September. The director then confided that he really liked this project which will bring together actors from the original film (Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara) and new stars (Jenna Ortega, interpreter of Wednesday Addams, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci and Justin Theroux).

“I tried to dismantle everything, and go back to the basics of work, with good people, actors and puppets,” he confided. It was kind of like going back to why I loved making films. »

Michael Keaton, who plays the title role, told the Empire Magazine that it had been a long time since he had so much fun making a film. The afterlife waiting room scene, he confided, will return, and “it needs to be done as close as possible to the way we did it the first time.”
