Project
If you want to give your bathroom or powder room a boost, the option of changing the vanity (often called a “vanity”) is a solution. An accessible and effective project to change the decor.
In the first place
Changing your vanity requires a little planning. You must respect the available space. The furniture must not interfere with movement or prevent the door from closing.
Check plumbing location to ensure connection without major changes. Then, the practical and aesthetic aspects: types of materials, look, storage.

Tape measure

caulking gun
Drill, bit, anchors
Stud finder (optional)
How to do it
1. Assemble the cabinet first (if needed). Secure the furniture. To properly attach it to the wall, find the studs. The goal is to fix the piece of furniture so that it is solid. Use the anchor areas at each end of the cabinet to attach it to the wall. If there is no stud, install an anchor. Small tip: even if it is not in the spaces provided, the crosspiece of the furniture is strong enough. Screw into cabinet to reach stud. Important: before screwing down the cabinet, make sure it is level!

2. Apply silicone to the edge of the furniture. The silicone is used to hold the counter or sink securely in place.

A line of silicone before setting down the sink will facilitate adhesion to the counter.
3. Attach the strainer to the bottom of the sink. Install Teflon tape, which is used to lubricate the threads of the joints and allow the tightening to be adequate for the assembly. Connect to drain pipes. Beware of water. A single drop that runs for a long time can cause very expensive damage. Do not hesitate to call a plumber for this step.

4. Drop the sink. The advantage of contemporary straight and profileless molding is that it can be sanded for a better fit. If necessary, drive in your nailheads.

At this stage, place the sink on the cabinet.

5. Pull a bead of silicone between the edges of the counter and the walls. The silicone seals everything and prevents water from infiltrating. To do this step well, cut the tube straight and hold your gun at an angle.

A little further
If you are making larger changes to the bathroom and are planning a large wall-hung vanity, plan your project well by installing a nailing backing. To do this, it is necessary to fix a plywood between the uprights, before putting the gypsum coating. The plywood ensures a solid and durable installation. Once the furniture is installed, you can add ceramic tiles to help with maintenance, in addition to creating a beautiful decor.
