New measures taken by the government

Sea Shepherd denounces the deaths of thousands of dolphins caught accidentally by fishing gear each year. In July 2020, France was put on notice by the European Commission for its lack of protection for these endangered species. So, in December 2022, new measures were taken by the government. The objective is to increase the number of trawlers equipped with surveillance cameras and to encourage fishermen to use repellents acoustic. According to Sea Shepherd, nearly 10,000 dolphins die from fishing every year.
