Barrick Gold sells its Perpetua Resources shares for 21.7 million

(Toronto) Gold miner Barrick Gold said Tuesday it sold its 8.5% stake in Perpetua Resources.

The company sold the 5,382,587 shares of Perpetua common stock it held through NASDAQ, CBOE, Direct Edge and NYSE-ARCA.

Gross proceeds from the sale were approximately $21.7 million, or $4.04 per share, Barrick said.

Idaho-based Perpetua is developing the Stibnite gold project.

Barrick said it sold its shares “for investment portfolio management purposes.”

Barrick clarified that after this sale, it no longer had any beneficial ownership of Perpetua shares, nor any control or ascendancy over any Perpetua shares.
