The new head of government visited this department affected by significant flooding.

For his first trip, the new Prime Minister wanted to be close to the people. Gabriel Attal wanted to assure local elected officials and disaster victims that the State would not let them down. He tried to comfort the manager of a café which was flooded several times. “We are here”, does he have assured the woman who explained her distress: “It’s too long, too many papers, it’s too complicated.” Don’t get demoralized, you are the incarnation of this working, hard-working France, you will find your customers, I will come and have a coffee with you.”, does he have added.

An envelope of 50 million euros

Gabriel Attal tried to respond to the distress of the victims with compassion, but also by showing a desire for action. “In an exceptional situation, exceptional means”, insisted the new head of government. He released 50 million euros to rebuild public facilities destroyed in communities affected by the floods.
