Although the announcement of the bankruptcy of Pâtisseries Gaudet sent shockwaves through the some 113 factory workers who suddenly lost their jobs, the news did not surprise everyone. Some, however, had the hope, in vain, to see the company saved by new investors.

“It’s special, what was happening. We had meetings with the team. We thought we might have buyers. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We live it hard”, regrets Marie-Ève Ducharme, head of the research and development department at Pâtisseries Gaudet.
