Japan announced a few months ago that it was moving forward with a massive rearmament plan. The country intends to double its military budget over five years, and it will now rely on long-range missiles capable of reaching mainland China. It is against this backdrop of security that the G7 countries are meeting this week, in the highly symbolic city of Hiroshima.
