According to ESPN, the two parties have agreed to the terms of a one-year, $8.5 million contract.
Mayfield will have big shoes to fill next year, Brady having left the NFL after having played the last three campaigns of his career with the “Bucs”, winning a Super Bowl in the process. The former Cleveland Browns started last year with the Carolina Panthers, who acquired him before the start of the season. However, he was not convincing enough, so the Charlotte team put him on waivers after seven games played.
The Los Angeles Rams took the opportunity to claim him. In 12 total games, the 27-year-old center had 2,163 yards and 10 touchdowns, against eight interceptions.
