Bad road conditions | Schools closed in some areas

The weekend starts earlier for many students in Quebec, since the ice and snow lead to the closure of several schools in the province.

If the schools of Montreal remain open Friday, in Longueuil, the Center de services scolaire Marie-Victorin has just announced the closure of all its establishments for the day, as has the Center de services scolaire des Patriotes, in Saint-Bruno-de – Montarville.

School service centers in Estrie, Bas-Saint-Laurent and the Quebec City region have already announced the closure of their schools for the day.

Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings for several regions, including Mauricie, Beauce, Charlevoix, Estrie and the Magdalen Islands. The Quebec region could receive up to 25 centimeters of snow.

The Ministry of Transport has already reported several road exits in the Capitale-Nationale region, in particular, where visibility is zero in several places and the roadway is snow-covered.

Ski resorts have also announced their closure for the day, including that of Mont-Orford, in Estrie.
