At 55, the flamboyant Axelle Red returns in 2023 with a new compilation “AR30: Best of Axelle Red 30 years”which brings together his greatest hits like “Sensuality”, “This morning”, “Remain a woman”, “My prayer”. And to ensure its promotion in France, what could be better than appearing on the most watched Saturday show as a bonus!
“We’re a bit like a pawn”
This December 9, 2023, the singer with fiery hair explained in the show “We’re doing TV again.” that she was in discussions with the first channel, to come and sing with the students of promotion 11 at the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys, without giving a precise date. And it’s a surprise when we know that the star didn’t like the voyeuristic side of these shows, and didn’t think that an artist could be made in just a few months – which is why she didn’t accept more early, she said.
“I don’t like that, in shows like that, we don’t give you, nor the candidates, nor the coaches, this freedom to show who you really are. With the editing, we can make you say a little bit what you are. they decide… We’re a bit like a pawn. And I’m rebellious, I don’t like being in a box” specifies Axelle Red.
In her native country, when she participated in “The Voice of Vlanderen” season 3, she also said “sick” of having to eliminate talent. Now that she is in negotiations to come and sing in France with the star academicians, Axelle Red assures that things “have changed”.
