It’s a shock result for Valérie Pécresse. The candidate of the Les Républicains party won 4.8% of the vote expressed in the presidential election on April 10, according to the results of the first round. She finished in fifth place behind Eric Zemmour. Very soon after the announcement of the results, this Sunday, Valérie Pécresse spoke. “I will vote in conscience Emmanuel Macron to prevent the coming to power of Marine Le Pen and the chaos that would result from it”, said the candidate. If she says don’t be”owner of the votes cast on his name”she appeals to her supporters.

“I ask the men and women voters who have honored me with their confidence, to weigh in the days to come with seriousness, the potentially disastrous consequences for our country and for future generations of any choice different from mine that they would consider for the second round, says Valérie Pécresse.

A cold shower for Valérie Pécresse

For the third time in a row, the right is defeated in the presidential elections. A difficult defeat for the historic right-wing party of this fifth Republic. The president of Ile-de-France was overtaken by the one who surprised the most during this election: Eric Zemmour. In the space of a few months, he managed to convince nearly two million voters. A rout for the candidate of the Reconquest party, but a step forward in his political ambitions. During the presidential campaign, he made Emmanuel Macron his main opponent, leaving aside his main rival, Marine Le Pen. However, this Sunday, he calls on his readers to give their vote for the candidate of the National Rally.

Despite the many harsh criticisms he leveled at Marine Le Pen throughout the campaign, Eric Zemmour gives his voice to the RN candidate. Even before announcing his decision, Marion Maréchal, his support, stole the show from the loser announcing his decision long before him.
