Autonomous Federation of Education | An Outaouais union accepts the agreement in principle

The Outaouais Education Union (SEO) accepted, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, the agreement in principle reached between Quebec and the Autonomous Education Federation (FAE). This is the third union affiliated with the FAE to vote in favor of the agreement.

On its Facebook page, the SEO specifies that the agreement was adopted with 57% of the votes, “after several hours of discussions in a general assembly” bringing together “more than 2,000 teachers” from the Coeur-des-Vallées school service centers , Draveurs and Portages-de-L’Outaouais.

“Out of respect for all the teachers involved in this negotiation, the SEO will not comment publicly on the content of the agreement in principle until the local meetings of all the unions affiliated with the FAE are held,” adds the union.

Last week, the Montreal Teachers’ Alliance and the Pointe-de-l’Île Teachers’ Union also accepted the agreement in principle, at 52% and 58.5%, respectively.

Conversely, the Laval region education union rejected the agreement by 68%.
