In a post on his social networks, the famous 86-year-old comedian Yvon Deschamps announced that he was retiring and closing his Facebook page.
His daughter confirms that he is doing very well, but that he wishes to take time for himself with his family.
Visibly less active in recent years, Yvon Deschamps still made a few appearances on late-night shows or in podcasts.
True to form, Mr. Deschamps added a touch of humor to the end of his message on Facebook.
“It is already time to bid you farewell. When good people retire, they retire to their land, water their flowers and write their memoirs. I’m going to retire to Judi’s land, I’m going to watch her water her flowers, but I won’t write a memoir because I don’t have any.
Mr. Deschamps had postponed the recording of the show “When we love, we are always 20 years old” with Louise Latraverse, Jean-Pierre Ferland and Clémence DesRochers due to an ugly fall in 2021.
The show was finally recorded in November of the same year.
