With the approach of the trial of the Nice attack, which took place on July 14, 2016, victims of the Bataclan come to support in order to prepare for this new ordeal.

This is the story of people brought together by horror. An outstretched hand between Lydia and Jean-Claude, victims of the Bataclan, and Annick and Alain Dariste, grandparents bereaved following the attack of July 14, 2016, in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). A meeting to discuss their suffering and help each other. “Compared to November 13, we tell ourselves that we form a family, but the family has grown because we are full of empathy for the fact that there are victims of other attacks, unfortunately”emphasizes Jean-Claude.

It was the French Association of Victims of Terrorism that made this exchange possible. “We are a bit of a cane to support them”, says Lydia. For 3 hours, Lydia and Jean-Claude recount the trial of the November 13 attacks. “The hardest part was the civil party, it’s very painful, you have to try to shield yourself from that”, breathes Jean-Claude. And Lydia to add: “Testifying allowed me to free myself from a weight and to move forward.” A benevolent presence that Annick and Alain Dariste will need because since the attack, time has not done its work.
