The Cauldron has found some color. For the great return of some of its supporters to the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, AS Saint-Etienne shared the points with Grenoble (2-2), Saturday October 1, in opening of the 10th day of Ligue 2.

Defeated at Guingamp 2-0 days ago, the Greens were quickly surprised by the visitors, who opened the scoring in the second minute through Jordan Tell. After this initial blow, Laurent Batlles’ men quickly took control of the game, without finding the mark in the first period.

When they returned from the locker room, the Stéphanois were however rewarded with a fine equalizer from left-hander Dylan Chambost (58th), on a service from Jean-Philippe Krasso. Warmed up, the public of the Cauldron could then explode thanks to the goal of the head of the captain Anthony Briançon (65th).

But while a third success this season was looming for ASSE, Grenoble goalkeeper Brice Maubleu kept his people alive with a formidable parade in front of Ibrahima Wadji (76th), preceding Matthias Phaëton’s equalizer by a few seconds ( 78th). The Isérois goalkeeper then disgusted the Stéphanois attackers to allow the GF38 to hang an ultimately unexpected draw (2-2).

Ultra dominating, with 26 shots at 4 and 67.1% possession, AS Saint-Etienne may have regrets and remain first relegated (17th, eight points). With five more units, Grenoble is temporarily in eighth place.
