Montreal firefighters responded around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning to a burning vehicle in the driveway of a private residence on rue Malard, near rue Alouette. The vehicle suffered significant damage, but the fire did not spread and there were no injuries, said spokeswoman for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Caroline Chèvrefils. .
“A container of possible accelerant would have been found on site, so the investigation was taken over by the arson section of the SPVM and the vehicle was towed so that an expertise could be carried out,” added agent Chèvrefils. .
