Heavy snowfall is expected to fall starting Wednesday evening or Thursday morning in several regions of eastern Quebec.
Around twenty centimeters of snow could fall in these areas, according to Environment Canada, which specifies that strong winds could create blowing snow.
The regions most affected by the snow warning are those of Gaspé and the entire Chaleur Bay coast, including Pointe-à-la-Croix, Bonaventure, Carleton-sur-Mer and Chandler.
The snow should stop falling Friday morning. The subsequent clearing will be accompanied by a cooling of temperatures.
A special weather bulletin was issued by the federal agency for the regions of Cap-Chat, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts and Grande-Vallée, in the north of Gaspésie, as well as for those of Sept-Îles and Havre-Saint-Pierre, on the North Shore. However, the expected amounts of snow have not been specified.
No snow warnings had yet been issued Wednesday morning for the Magdalen Islands, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
