Laundry detergent, soap or even dishwashing liquid, cleaning products often have a catastrophic impact on the environment. More and more brands are therefore offering natural products, but are they really more ecological?

Cleaning with lemon, vinegar or raspberry to protect the environment. Recently, cleaning product brands have gone green to attract more environmentally conscious consumers. After the Covid crisis, detergent sales have declined, except for natural products, which are driving the market upwards. Are they really healthier?

There is still a lot of chemistry and oil behind these claims. Only the European Ecolabel and Ecocert eco-detergent certifications guarantee a lower impact on the environment. The certification of detergents also covers effectiveness and packaging. The danger of non-certified products is difficult to assess because the list of components is not mandatory. Even natural and less polluting, using a limited number of household products helps prevent residues from polluting waterways.
