Long shunned, apprenticeship is now popular: + 25% apprentices last year. An increase in contracts boosted by exceptional aid decided during the health crisis.

Immersed in the deep end during all her training. Amel Hamidi, 21, chose apprenticeship for her bac + 2 in internet communication. A profession that she learned in a young company which manages an online sales platform. Out of 22 employees, eight are apprentices. “It’s a whole different approach to making school files”, underlines the apprentice in digital communication. A valuable experience for the young person, paid 970 euros net per month. A good deal for the company too.

Each adult apprentice that she employs allows her to obtain a subsidy of 8,000 euros per contract. An allocation justified in the eyes of his employer: “An apprentice is a trained person, who brings a lot to the company, but who takes part of the time of the employee who trains him”, affirms Diane Scemama, founder of the company “Dream Act”. A popular system, but costly for the State, which will have to choose next spring whether or not to extend aid for the hiring of apprentices.
