Antoine de Maximy arrives at the Cannes Film Festival, but nothing goes as planned… Big disappointment for the host!

The 76ᵉ edition of the Cannes Film Festival was eagerly awaited by the 7ᵉ art industry. Like every year, the biggest stars lit up the Cannes red carpet! Elle Fanning was one of the first actresses to gracefully step on it. Other icons of the cinema have obviously crackled the flashes of the photographers. Like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Uma Thurman or even Johnny Depp accompanied by the director Maïwenn!

On the Croisette, the ex-girlfriend of Luc Besson came to present his historic film “Jeanne du Barry”. Unsurprisingly, the appearance of the American actor unleashed passions! Ignoring the various controversies concerning them, Johnny Depp and his on-screen partner proudly displayed themselves hand in hand with the rest of the cast. A symbolic gesture which also allows them to erase the many rumors about their alleged disagreement during the filming.

After the screening of the feature film, the ex-husband of Amber Heard was even entitled to a standing ovation from “7 minutes” which moved him to no end. On the Web, the images have gone around the world. Thanks to Maïwenn, Johnny Depp was able to make a comeback, according to some critics. “I thought it was very brave of him to choose a redneck from Kentucky to play Louis XV. Very brave. I wanted to be sure that I didn’t feel like I was stepping out of my box and into that of a other”, had fun the happy father of two children during a press conference.

“The era of big anything…”

While other celebrities are expected to arrive in Cannes, Antoine de Maximy was quick to come! This Wednesday, May 17, 2023, the host orchestrated his arrival and he did not fail to immortalize him on Instagram. In particular his passage on the red carpet … But a detail has enormously taken aback, as he explained in the caption of his post: “I am Cannes Film Festival. Everyone is taking selfies on the red carpet. So I took a picture from the top of the stairs of people taking selfies.”

An observation that made its many subscribers react: “The era of great nonsense. They all have a disproportionate ego”, “What a totally stupid universe, between oneself at its peak […]”, “Narcissist society”, “It’s less glamorous seen from above, say you’re inflated to make fun of selfies, you film yourself all day long, “What emptiness, what vanity”, “What horror… “.
