A state of emergency has been declared by the mayor in Ottawa. The capital of Canada has been completely paralyzed for ten days by heavy goods vehicles. The truckers, opposed to their compulsory vaccination, were joined by thousands of demonstrators from all over the country to demand the lifting of health restrictions.

In the Canadian capital, a deafening concert of car horns resounds, day and night. In Ottawa, anti-vax protesters represent a minority that wants to be heard. The residents can’t take it anymore. “I can’t even hear myself speak”said one of them.

The city’s mayor declared a state of emergency. The Canadian police are criticized for their lack of action. But the police want to show that they have the situation under control. “A week ago, there were more than 3,000 trucks and vehicles. This weekend, the number was reduced to 1,000 trucks and around 5,000 demonstrators. (…) This is the result of our firm actions “, said the Ottawa police chief. The demonstration, dubbed the “freedom convoy”, drew protesters from across the country.
