The distance education university of the Quebec university network, TÉLUQ, awarded an honorary doctorate to the poet and singer Gilles Vigneault on Sunday afternoon. This is another prestigious distinction to add to the vast collection of the artist, which has more than a dozen honorary degrees.

“It’s the 50th anniversary of the university. We thus mark our convocation of the degrees with the presence of a distinguished guest, who has always highlighted the French language”, indicated Élisabeth Farinacci, Director of Communications at TÉLUQ University, in an interview with The duty.

She explains that the artist wanted to receive his prize in person, at the Palais Montcalm, in Quebec, to meet the students of the university: “Studying at a distance is very different, it’s complicated, and it requires a lot of motivation, a reality that prompted Mr. Vigneault to meet the students. »
