Anny Duperey “harassed” for two weeks, she can no longer bear the extent of the controversy

She knew it before she even gave her opinion, but she gave it anyway. Aware that her remarks were going to provoke a lively controversy, Anny Duperey declared at the microphone of Nathalie Renoux on RTL on Saturday February 10, 2024 that the accusations made by Judith Godrèche against Benoît Jacquot were “extremely exaggerated”on the grounds that the actress had lived “six years with (the) director”: “Under the influence, I’m willing, but still consenting, right?” had dared the former heroine of the cult TF1 series A wonderful family. A few minutes later, she deplored a “witch hunt” which aimed to destroy several cinematographic careers, and refused to annihilate the work of personalities such as Roman Polanski and Jacques Doillon.

Since then, without any surprise, Anny Duperey has been the target of strong criticism, which led her to have to quickly rectify the situation in a laminar press release, in which she did not, however, apologize to Judith Godrèche, Isild Le Besco or Anna Mouglalis again. The sentence fell quickly, and the SOS Children’s Villages association, of which she was the ambassador and godmother for many years, finally dismissed her, and announced that she would no longer be with them. A brutal consequence, to which Anny Duperey returned this Wednesday February 21, 2024 at the microphone of Europe 1.

“If you are ashamed of me, it’s better that I leave”

Tired, hurt by the insults and attacks that target her, Anny Duperey deplored the harassment that has targeted her for two weeks, and from which she struggles to escape. The actress, who starred with Gérard Depardieu in numerous films such as Freindscriticized the SOS Children’s Villages association for having accentuated his discomfort, by bombarding him with telephone calls to urge him to resign: “I was harassed by twenty phone calls a day because they were like that, finger on the seam of their pants, towards social networks. I ended up saying: Listen, if you are ashamed from me, maybe it’s better that I (leave). And it was accepted in the minute” said the 75-year-old actress. She was immediately replaced by the actress Isabelle Carré, who was co-sponsor of the association alongside her.

Reacting, once again, to the controversial comments she made, Anny Duperey deplored the fact that we can no longer “nuance” a situation : “We can’t provide nuance at the moment, it’s either black or white” she lamented. And to recall, rightly, having been one of the first to sign the petition demanding the release of Jacqueline Sauvage, sentenced to ten years in prison for having killed her violent husband with several gunshots in the back: “I was still one of the first to demonstrate for the release of Jacqueline Sauvage (…) I have always defended that, but here I am, I tried to temper it and it’s a time when we don’t can’t temper”.
