Anne Alassane (Masterchef): What happens to the first winner of the contest with a tragic destiny?

After seven years of absence, the competition master chef is back on the air. It was France 2 that had the idea of reviving the program by recruiting Agathe Lecaron as host and composing the jury ofYves Camdeborde, Thierry Marx and Georgiana Viou (Season 1 runner-up). While waiting to get there, our colleagues from Parisian caught up on the winners of previous seasons, including Anne Alassane is part.

This is the first winner of master chef in 2010. Since then, Anne Alassane has come a long way. She notably opened her own restaurant, The Lanaud in the region of Limoges which offers Limousin specialties based on local products. The young woman also manages a food truck all year round, for which she was able to recruit seventeen employees. “MasterChef changed my life. I first opened a farm-inn, then I sold it to open the Lanaud”, she explained to the Parisian. When she is not behind the stove, Anne Alassane takes up the pen. She has written four books, the last of which on barbecue cooking came out very recently, last April.

The drama that changed his life

On the private side, not everything was rosy for the famous chef. In 2012, she notably experienced the drama of her life. That year, she lost two of her six children: Rose (4 years old) and Louise (2 years old). The girls tragically died in an accidental fire that broke out at her farmhouse The farmer, in Montauban, in Tarn-et-Garonne. It’s a gas lighter that would have caused everything while Rose and Louise were upstairs playing in their room. Anne Alassane, who was working in her farm-inn located next door, tried somehow to intervene but access to the room was impossible. When the police finally managed to get them out, it was already too late.

Despite her impossible mourning, Anne Alassane had two other daughters afterwards: Margaux (8 years old) and Amélie (7 years old). “I don’t want to forget my daughters and I will never forget them. I had two other little girls, but they weren’t replacement children. But it was hard, I necessarily compared“, she admitted in It starts today in 2021.
