Angèle bisexual and outraged: a member of her family did not “react very well”

Angela does her come back and hits a big blow: a new single, Brussels I love you, and a documentary dedicated to him by Netflix available from November 26. In the pages of the newspaper The Parisian, who attended the preview organized at the Grand Rex in Paris, we discover some of the highlights as when she looks back on her coming out as a bisexual woman.

In August 2020, Angèle posted on her Instagram account a photo of her revealing that she was in love with a woman, a certain Marie; we will discover that it is the YouTuber Marie Papillon, with whom she is now separated. But her fans will not be frankly surprised since the singer had unfortunately been outrage by a magazine some time earlier when the general public had always known her in a relationship with a man, the dancer Léo Walk. This outing had caused a stir in his personal life, especially with his family.

My coming out has been stolen from me. I realized quite late that I was bi and it was complicated. I would have preferred to choose the moment“, says Angèle in her documentary. Balance your what could have taken the time to tell some of his relatives, in a private setting. “Even Mamy Pilou, her grandmother to whom she is very close, learns from the media and, for once, does not react very well“, precise The Parisian. Since then, water has flowed under the bridges and there is no doubt that they were able to talk about it together, quietly.

In the magazine SHE, last October, Angèle already evoked this bisexuality which now makes her an LGBT figure. “I would find it wonderful if it wasn’t a topic anymore, although objectively it still is, and I can’t blame people for bringing it up. At the same time, it is important to talk about it, because we all need representations“, she said then.

Note that Angèle’s future album, Ninety-five, will be released on December 10, 2021.
