The Israeli army entered the Palestinian part of the Rafah crossing point on Tuesday, May 7, and ensures that this area is under its control.
Leaflets calling on residents of Rafah (Gaza Strip) to leave the area were dropped by plane by the Israeli army. Tuesday, May 7 in the morning, IDF armored vehicles crisscross the Palestinian part of the Rafah crossing point, on the border with Egypt. Israeli television announced that this area was under control. Israel claims to have killed at least 20 Hamas members. The truce agreement accepted by Hamas was refused by Israel. Faced with this rise in tension, China urges Israel to stop the attack on Rafah.
Fear of a land invasion
More than a million people have sought refuge in Rafah. The UN has been barred from Israel’s main entry point for humanitarian aid into Gaza.
