According to the MEP, “Vladimir Putin has been responsible for years of war crimes and crimes against humanity, first in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and now in Ukraine”. The MEP adds that this decision “places the other States, those who will welcome Vladimir Putin on a visit, face up to their responsibility. What are they going to do?”

Finally, Raphaël Glucksmann adds that “Vladimir Putin can never again be a partner, as Western officials thought so far”. “The Western states thought that this war was a parenthesis, and that then we could resume business ‘as usual’ with Vladimir Putin’s Russia. They understand this evening that they will no longer be able to do it”he concludes.
