an explosive trailer for the next film in the franchise

Toei Animation has offered its Japanese audience a new trailer for the next film in the Dragon Ball saga: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Scheduled for April 22 in Japan, this brand new production entirely made in computer graphics wants to mark time in the history of the series. New elements on the plot have also been revealed, with exclusive images.

The film will feature two somewhat neglected characters from Akira Toriyama’s cult saga in recent years: the duo formed by Son Gohan – the first son of the main character Son Goku – and Piccolo, the Namekian fighter and Gohan’s mentor. The latest trailer highlights the action well with these two new protagonists taking center stage.

Of course, the main characters of the series, Goku and Vegeta, will also be there. But according to this new trailer, everything suggests that the Super Hero in question could be Gohan, accompanied by his former master Piccolo. Notice to those nostalgic for the first two animated series Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, the famous Army of the Red Ribbon, historical enemy of Son Goku’s gang, signs its return with two new villains: Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. he origin of such powerful cyborgs could even, according to the latest images of the trailer, bring in a new, even more powerful antagonist.

Tout suggests that Toei wants to restore the same suspense as what was done in 2018 with the promotion of the previous installment Dragon Ball Super: Broly and the return of its eponymous character, which had been revealed at the last moment. Speaking of suspense, the Toei-Animation took the opportunity to officially announce a new transformation for the character of Piccolo – favorite character of the creator of the saga Akira Toriwama.

There is still no French date or communication for this film. In March 2019, dragon ball super broly was released just four months after Japan. Since then, the French distribution landscape has changed a lot with the takeover of Crunchyroll by Sony, which led to the recent absorption of Wakanim and Funimation by the brand.

The animation studio wants to bring back some forgotten characters from the franchise, including Gohan and Piccolo, against new enemies. (TOEI ANIMATION)
