An eight-year-old child was found dead on Sunday morning, June 30, in an apartment located in Colmar (Haut-Rhin), France Bleu Alsace reported on Monday. The child’s mother was arrested.
Sunday around 10:40 a.m., an eight-year-old girl was found dead in an apartment located on the third floor of the Bartholdi estate in Colmar. The victim had injuries to his face and chest. The firefighters were unable to revive her. An autopsy must be carried out in the coming hours to determine the circumstances of death.
The victim’s mother, aged 21 according to initial information and who has no criminal record, was arrested at home and subdued with a taser by the police. According to a source close to the case cited by France Bleu Alsace, the mother was very agitated and was throwing objects out the window. According to the public prosecutor of Colmar, Jean Richert, the circumstances of the tragedy remain to be clarified.
