On Saturday June 3, a little boy with brain cancer was assaulted by supporters of the Corsican club at the François Coty stadium in Ajaccio, on the sidelines of a match between the club and OM.

The party turned into a nightmare for eight-year-old Kenzo. Suffering from brain cancer, the little boy is a fervent supporter of Marseille. Invited by an association, he and his parents were in the stadium boxes from Ajaccio (Corse-du-Sud), Saturday June 3, to attend the football match between the Corsican club and OM. Before the match starts, everyone dresses in the colors of Marseille, a gesture that will stir up the anger of some Ajaccio supporters.

Violent climate

The father’s jersey was destroyed, the family jostled and Kenzo’s head hit the barrier, according to his mother’s testimony. In a press release, the Corsican club expressed its regrets. “Even the most extreme stupidity cannot excuse these behaviors”, he lamented. This match will be remembered for the unleashing of violence inside the stadium, but also outside, with 500 Marseille supporters ready to do battle with the Corsicans.
