Tuesday, April 30, at around 10 p.m., the police intervened manu militari on the Columbia campus (New York, United States). The demonstrators try to prevent them from advancing, but the police are determined. Using a freight elevator, they launched an attack on an administrative building of the university, occupied by pro-Palestinian activists. The demonstrators were dislodged, dozens of them were arrested.
Campus occupied for several weeks
The intervention took place at the request of the president of Columbia. The campus has been occupied for several weeks by students protesting against Israel’s war in Gaza.
