(Belleville) Defenders Justin Barron, who scored twice and added an assist, and Nicolas Beaudin, who scored the game-winning goal late in the third period, led the Laval Rocket to a 7- 5 against the Belleville Senators on Friday.
Beaudin sparkled the red light at 14:38 of the final twenty with a wrist shot from the blue line that surprised the Ontarians jailer.
The former Chicago Blackhawks first-round pick hit the target for the first time with the Rocket. He was acquired in late October in return for striker Cameron Hillis.
Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, who was also the author of two assists, Jan Mysak, Anthony Richard and Otto Leskinen also scored for the Rocket (6-10-3). Jesse Ylönen had three assists.
In the win, Cayden Primeau made 32 saves. Only four Rocket players were cleared from the scoresheet.
Matthew Boucher, Scott Sabourin, Angus Crookshank, Jake Lucchini and Maxence Guenette provided the response for the Senators (7-9-1).
Logan Flodell allowed four goals on 16 shots before being taken out of the game. In relief, Quebecer Antoine Bibeau repelled 17 of the 19 shots he faced.
The Rocket were starting a five-game road streak. He’ll take over Saturday night against the Senators again.
