American League | The Rocket have the upper hand over the Americans in an offensive festival

(Laval) The Laval Rocket won 7-5 an offensive festival against the Rochester Americans, Wednesday at Place Bell.


No less than 15 players had at least one point for the Rocket, while Jan Mysak (two assists), Riley McKay (one goal, two assists) and Anthony Richard (two assists) had two or more points. Cayden Primeau stopped 29 shots in the win.

Americans center Brandon Biro had a hat trick, while Malcolm Subban blocked 28 shots.

Mason Jobst scored his ninth goal of the season to make it 7-5 in the second half of the third period.

The third period started strong, as Biro scored his third goal of the game 2:01 into the game. His power play goal didn’t slow down the Rocket, however, who a few minutes later scored twice. in less than two minutes.

Defenseman William Trudeau scored the first of those two goals for the Rocket, his second goal in as many games and his fourth point in his last four games.

The second period was played in two stages. The Americans first started well with two goals in the first four minutes of play, 32 seconds apart.

The Rocket, however, dominated the other half of the second period, scoring three goals. Mitchell Stephens scored his 10e of the campaign, while Brandon Gignac and Gabriel Bourque each obtained their 11e afterwards.

The Americans scored the last goal of the first period. Biro scored what was his first of three goals in the game, assisted by Jewremy Davies.

His goal only reduced the lead to 2-1 at the time, as Pierrick Dubé and Peter Abbandonato had already scored the first two goals of the match, after 7:56 and 9:00 respectively.
