American League | Cleveland takes control of the Rocket late in the game and wins 5-4

(Laval) The Cleveland Monsters scored three straight goals in the third period on Friday, earning a 5-4 win over the Laval Rocket.


The Monsters were down 4-2 before two goals from Trey Fix-Wolansky and the second of the game from Cole Sillinger.

All three goals were scored in an interval of 9:44.

Tyler Angle was the other scorer for the winners.

Cleveland took possession of fifth in the North Division, one point ahead of the Rocket.

The fifth-ranked club will face the fourth-place team in the section in the first round of the playoffs, in a two-for-three formula.

Anthony Richard, Emil Heineman, Xavier Simoneau and Jan Mysak fought back for the Rocket, which had won four straight.

Laval went 0-for-3 on the power play.

The opponent has scored two out of three times on such occasions.

The Rocket’s Cayden Primeau made 28 saves, like his counterpart Jet Greaves.

The Rocket will play again Saturday night in Syracuse.

The regular season will end next Friday.
