(Ottawa) Bayern Munich and men’s national team star player Alphonso Davies was named Canada Soccer Player of the Year on Wednesday.
Davies, who has five goals and eight assists for the Maple Leaf this year, won the award for the third time in four seasons.
The 21-year-old from Edmonton played 13 international games for Canada in 2021.
He scored a masterful goal in October against Panama in a CONCACAF qualifier in Toronto for the World Cup.
Davies also won a third consecutive Bundesliga title, with Bayern Munich.
Jonathan David finished second in the poll of Canadian coaches and members of the media.
